A retirement is a fascinating
topic to write on. I hope that you experience the same fascination
reading this writing on retirement.
As the time of
your retirement comes nearer, the feeling of anxiety and
anticipation continues to build. When that day has come to pass. On
one side you may be glad to finally put that 40 hour week behind
you. For those who work more hours or have a high stress job, it is
even more of a welcomed relief. For others, there is no need to
beat the downtown rush hour traffic or long business
meetings. The many
years you have toiled day in and day out to make your retirement
enjoyable. Now that you have retired there is the possibility of
being inactive for a long time - not knowing what to do with all of
your free time.
Okay, now it's
time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. To make the transition into
retirement something joyful, lets take a look at this new phase of
your life.
* Get yourself a
hobby - Find a hobby that can keep you busy. Find friends that will
go fishing or play golf with.
* Take a long
vacation - You could also go on vacation to change the pace of life
after retirement. Visit places that interest you and learn new
culture or language. It will make your life after retirement more
meaningful and enjoyable.
* Motorcycle's -
Today motorcycling is one of the most comfortable and exciting ways
of traveling. You will meet plenty of interesting new friends.
* Get to know your
grandchildren - This is the time to have fun with your
grandchildren. If you love the outdoor life, invite your
grandchildren for a camping trip (use the camper). Teach them a few
outdoor tricks that you know and they will remember it for
life.
* Read a good book
-
Reading keeps the mind agile and alert. It will help you relax and
fantasize a little. You can go over to the local library and pick
up a book to read over the weekend. You could start with any easy
to read books to get the momentum going. Right here's a great book
to read.

Book
* Take a computer
class - You could take the extra time you have after your
retirement to pursue a computer course you have always wanted to
take and were to busy for. It would be exciting to attend classes
again.
* Then start a
blog - You could make use of your time by blogging about your
retirement and keep yourself updated with blogs of similar theme.
Just do it for self satisfaction.
* Get active in
your church activities - Being involved in your church can also
keep you busy. Be involved with the younger generation through
mentoring programs or similar activities.
* Get a pup -
Keeping a dog, will help you keep yourself busy after retirement.
Dogs like a miniature schnauzer can be good companions for the
retiree. It so much fun to watch your puppy grow and they can
become your companion when you go for your evening walks.
*Make sure you
take care of your health as well.
Eating a balanced
diet and staying active will help ensure you have plenty of energy
and vitality to enjoy life when you hit retirement age.
This might sound
obtuse, but many important decisions can be made easier by thinking
simply, and a bit differently.
These ideas will
not be for everyone, of course, because retirement is experienced
on an individual basis; however, these ideas do provide a guide for
thinking about what some
individuals may do
when they transition into the retirement stage of life. Hopefully
you will continue getting yourself active and look for other ways
to fill you time after retirement.
I hope that after
reading about After Retirement, you get a good impression about
enjoying your retirement. It is the final impression of an article
that counts.
